In case you missed it, this past week I revealed the cover of NASCENT WITCH to the world via my social media accounts. I’m so happy with how this book looks! And very glad to say that it will be out in the world on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
While writing NASCENT WITCH, I was really trying to dance between genres, and that’s not always so easily translated into cover art. This is a fantasy novel, but it’s hardly Outlander or Game of Thrones; it’s a little bit literary, but no one’s going to ask me to take part in an Ivy League reading series; it’s a little bit romantic, but doesn’t completely fit that category either. What’s a witch (book) to do?
I hope Sela’s burn-out and the hope that magick brings into her life are communicated by her stance next to the conical hat as they both sit front and center, no frills but the title of the book around them. The title font (the license for which was one of the happiest purchases I’ve ever made as an author) should tell you that this is a far cry from sword and sorcery, but also that there are unquestionably enchanting things about to happen. And that millennial pink hopefully says it’s a book for the generation represented by the color itself.
I’m so excited to share this story with the world! It has lived in my head, my heart, and my laptop for a long time now, and I’m counting down the days until I have a copy in my hands…
